As a High School History Teacher, Jonathan Baity creates an engaging and thoughtful learning environment where students are encouraged to explore historical events, develop critical thinking skills, and gain a deeper understanding of how the past shapes the present. He partners closely with students and families to support academic growth through meaningful instruction and strong communication.

His responsibilities include planning and delivering standards-based history instruction, fostering analytical and discussion-based learning, supporting student progress through feedback and assessment, and building strong relationships with students and families. Jonathan is passionate about helping students develop curiosity about history and an appreciation for the lessons it offers.

Jonathan Baity finds the greatest joy in teaching when students gain new insights from history that lead to a deeper appreciation of the past and its relevance to today’s world. He values those moments when learning becomes meaningful and students begin to connect historical content to broader ideas and perspectives.

As he joins Colearn Academy, Jonathan is excited to build new relationships and cultivate a strong sense of community with both students and parents. He looks forward to contributing to a learning environment that is collaborative, supportive, and student-centered.

Jonathan was inspired to become a teacher by the exceptional educators he had growing up. Their influence shaped his love of learning and his desire to create a similar impact for his own students by fostering curiosity, understanding, and engagement in the classroom.

A fun fact about Jonathan is that he used to play in loud rock bands.
