Position Overview

We are seeking a passionate and creative Middle School Language Arts Teacher to join our growing team. This part-time role (January–June 2026) will transition to a full-time position for the 2026–27 school year, adding Middle School Social Studies to the teaching assignment.

The ideal candidate will inspire students through interactive instruction, clear communication, and a strong partnership with families. Candidates should be comfortable teaching in a virtual environment and using digital platforms to create engaging lessons and meaningful learning experiences.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver live and asynchronous instruction aligned with South Carolina state standards for Middle School Language Arts.
• Foster students’ skills in reading, writing, speaking, listening, and critical thinking.
• Provide timely feedback on assignments and maintain consistent communication with students and parents.
• Support at-home learning by providing clear guidance, resources, and encouragement to families.
• Collaborate with the Colearn team to maintain consistency across grade levels and courses.
• Track student progress, provide interventions where needed, and contribute to ongoing improvement of instructional practices.
• Participate in virtual staff meetings, training sessions, and professional learning opportunities.
• (Future full-time role) Teach Middle School Social Studies and integrate cross-curricular projects when possible.

Qualifications

• Must reside in South Carolina.
• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field required; teaching certification required.
• Experience teaching Middle School Language Arts required; experience with Social Studies preferred.
• Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills.
• Comfortable teaching in a virtual learning environment.
• Passionate about partnering with families and supporting diverse learners.
