About Colearn Academy

Colearn Academy South Carolina is a virtual charter school that partners with families to personalize education. We believe parents are the primary educators and work closely with them to ensure each student — including those with IEPs — receives the support and services they need to thrive academically and socially. Our program blends flexibility and structure, offering live instruction, small-group sessions, and individualized support in a collaborative, family-centered environment.

Position Overview

Colearn Academy is seeking a dedicated and student-centered Special Education Teacher to provide exceptional support to students with disabilities in an online learning environment. • Collaborate with general education teachers to adapt lessons, modify assignments, and support student success in the virtual classroom.
  • Conduct breakout sessions during live classes to offer targeted support for students with IEPs.
  • Develop and monitor IEPs in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Collect progress-monitoring data and report on goal achievement.
  • Communicate regularly with parents, general education teachers, and the intervention team to ensure alignment and support.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary team discussions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and compliance within timelines.
  • Engage in professional development and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Experience teaching or supporting students with disabilities in a virtual or hybrid environment preferred.
  • Strong understanding of IDEA, IEP development, and progress monitoring.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and technology skills.
  • Committed to working with families as partners in the learning process.
