Jennifer Maughan finds the most joy in teaching when students experience that powerful moment of realization—that they are capable of success and can achieve more than they thought possible. She values walking alongside students as they grow in confidence and begin to see their own progress.

One of her most meaningful classroom moments comes when students feel comfortable enough to engage fully in learning, including turning on their cameras and sharing their personalities and presence in class. These moments remind her of the unique individuals behind every screen and reinforce her love for teaching.

Jennifer’s favorite part of the Colearn community is the faculty culture. She deeply values the support, collaboration, and shared commitment among staff, which makes the work both meaningful and encouraging.

A fun fact about Jennifer is that she has an identical twin sister.

Role

As a High School Math Teacher, Jennifer Maughan creates a supportive and engaging learning environment where students are encouraged to build confidence, strengthen problem-solving skills, and discover their own ability to succeed in mathematics. She partners closely with students to help them overcome challenges and experience growth in both skill and self-belief.

Her responsibilities include planning and delivering standards-based math instruction, supporting student understanding through guided practice and feedback, monitoring academic progress, and building meaningful relationships with students. Jennifer is passionate about helping students recognize their potential and realize they are capable of success in math.
