Role

Katie Van Dam serves as a Math Interventionist at Colearn Academy, where she supports students in strengthening their math skills, building confidence, and discovering their ability to succeed. She is passionate about helping students overcome challenges and creating meaningful learning experiences that lead to those important “aha!” moments.

She works closely with students, families, and educators to provide targeted math support and individualized instruction that meets students where they are. Katie is committed to building strong relationships and encouraging students as they develop both their academic skills and confidence as learners.

Katie loves everything about being part of Colearn Academy, especially the incredible support and encouragement shared among teachers, staff, and leadership. She appreciates being part of a community where everyone works together to support students and help one another succeed.

One of the most rewarding parts of her work is building relationships with students and families and watching students experience those exciting moments when a concept finally clicks. Seeing a student have an “aha!” moment and realize they are capable of success is what makes teaching so meaningful for Katie.

She values the family-like culture at Colearn and the shared commitment to helping every student grow.

A fun fact about Katie is that she moved from Michigan to Arizona in less than three days!
