Role

As a Special Education Teacher at Colearn Academy, Kayla Orozco works closely with students and families to provide individualized support that meets each student where they are. She helps create personalized learning experiences that support students’ unique needs while building confidence, independence, and academic growth.

Kayla is passionate about developing strong relationships with her students and creating an environment where they feel comfortable asking questions, working through challenges, and celebrating their progress. She partners with families and the Colearn team to ensure students receive the support and encouragement they need to be successful.

About

Kayla believes that meaningful relationships are at the heart of student success. Even in a virtual environment, she has seen how powerful it can be when students feel known, supported, and confident enough to ask questions and take ownership of their learning.

One of her favorite parts of teaching is being her students’ biggest cheerleader—encouraging them through challenges, celebrating every milestone, and reminding them of their potential. She especially values Colearn’s dedication to personalized instruction and its partnership with families to meet the individual needs of each student.

For Kayla, the Colearn community truly feels like a family. She loves being part of a team where teachers and families work together toward the same goal: helping every student grow, gain confidence, and thrive.
