Taylor Bennett values the flexibility of the Colearn model and the opportunity it provides to work closely with students and homeschooling families. She enjoys adapting her instruction to meet individual needs and supporting families as they guide their children’s educational journey. For Taylor, one of the most rewarding parts of teaching is watching students grow in confidence and begin to believe in their own abilities.
One of her most memorable moments as a teacher came during a trip to Washington, D.C., where students experienced history and culture firsthand—many even traveling on a plane for the first time. In the classroom, she also finds joy in seeing students transform their self-perception, especially when those who once said they were “bad at math” begin to approach challenges with confidence and positivity. These moments continually affirm her passion for teaching and student growth.
Taylor deeply values the sense of family within the Colearn community and feels supported by the collaborative and encouraging culture among staff and families. She is committed to fostering the same sense of belonging and encouragement in her own classroom.
A fun fact about Taylor is that although she teaches math, she set a personal goal of reading 75 books in a single summer—and reached it in 2021.
As a Middle School Math and Science Teacher, Taylor Bennett creates a supportive and engaging learning environment where students are encouraged to build confidence, think critically, and grow in both academic skills and independence. She partners closely with families to provide instruction that is responsive to individual student needs while helping learners develop a strong foundation in math and science.
Her responsibilities include planning and delivering standards-based instruction, supporting student growth through ongoing feedback and assessment, fostering meaningful relationships with students and families, and creating a classroom culture where students feel capable, supported, and challenged. Taylor is passionate about helping students shift their mindset, develop confidence, and discover success in subjects they may have once found difficult.
