Role

Ivy Holmes serves as Director of Student Services at Colearn Academy, where she leads programs and supports that help every student access an individualized, high-quality educational experience. She is passionate about advocating for students, strengthening collaboration between general and special education, and ensuring that families are active partners in their child's learning journey.

She works closely with school leadership, teachers, and families to develop systems that support student success across all grade levels. Ivy is committed to building inclusive practices, fostering strong relationships, and equipping educators with the resources they need to meet the unique needs of every learner.

Ivy is passionate about creating a school community where students, families, and educators work together to help every learner succeed. As a strong advocate for special education and an educator who also works with future teachers at the university level, Ivy especially appreciates Colearn's commitment to bridging the gap between general and special education. She believes every student deserves an individualized learning experience, and she values being part of a school that intentionally empowers families while meeting students where they are.

One of the most meaningful reminders of why she does this work came when a parent specifically requested that she evaluate their child because of the trust they had built together. Moments like these reinforce the importance of relationships and remind her that education is about far more than academics.

Outside of work, Ivy enjoys spending time with her family and looks forward to watching her granddaughters grow and learn. She often says she wishes a school like Colearn had been available when she was raising her own children and is excited to see the opportunities it provides for future generations.
