As a Middle School Math and Science Teacher, Imani Lyle creates an engaging and supportive learning environment where students are encouraged to build confidence, develop critical thinking skills, and find success in challenging academic content. She partners closely with families to ensure instruction is personalized and responsive to each student’s unique learning needs.
Her responsibilities include planning and delivering meaningful, standards-based instruction, adapting teaching strategies to support diverse learners, monitoring student progress, and fostering strong relationships with students and families. Imani is passionate about helping students feel successful in math and science by meeting them where they are and guiding them toward growth and confidence.
Imani Lyle values Colearn’s strong commitment to partnership with families and the wide range of opportunities it provides for students to succeed in their learning journeys. She also appreciates the in-person field trips and meetups that help students connect beyond the virtual classroom and build meaningful relationships with peers.
One of Imani’s most meaningful moments this year came when a student who initially struggled with engagement began consistently joining live sessions after she intentionally adapted instruction to match his learning style. As trust and connection grew, his participation and respect increased significantly—reminding her of her “why” and the importance of meeting students where they are in order to support their academic success.
Imani deeply values the family-centered, student-first culture of the Colearn community. She appreciates the flexibility teachers are given, along with the strong support from administration and staff, allowing her to always prioritize what is best for students.
A fun fact about Imani is that she loves turning concepts into songs, acronyms, and memorable “aha” moments that help students retain information long after the lesson is over.
