NCAA Eligibility
NCAA Eligibility for Colearn Academy Student-Athletes
Colearn Academy South Carolina offers NCAA-approved core courses to support student-athletes interested in pursuing collegiate athletics. Students considering NCAA athletics should begin planning early to ensure their coursework meets NCAA initial-eligibility requirements.
Getting Started
If your student is considering competing in NCAA athletics after high school, families should:
- Create an account with the NCAA Eligibility Center. Visit the NCAA Eligibility Center to create an account. Students planning to compete at an NCAA Division I or Division II school will need an Academic and Athletics Certification Account.
- Let Colearn Academy know. Notify us that your student plans to pursue NCAA eligibility so we can help ensure the student's course selections align with NCAA core-course requirements.
- Choose NCAA-approved courses. Not every high school course automatically qualifies as an NCAA core course. Students should use the approved Colearn Academy South Carolina course list below when planning their high school program.
- Stay on track. NCAA eligibility is based on more than attending an NCAA-approved school or taking one approved course. Students must meet NCAA requirements related to core courses, grades, graduation timing, amateurism, and other applicable eligibility standards.
- Keep your NCAA ID handy. Once registered, students should provide their NCAA ID to Colearn Academy so we can assist with the school-side eligibility process when needed.

Important Information for Student-Athletes
NCAA approval of a course does not automatically establish a student's NCAA eligibility. Student-athletes must meet all applicable NCAA initial-eligibility requirements, including required core-course completion, GPA, and other requirements established by the NCAA Eligibility Center.
