About

Mackenzie loves everything about being part of Colearn Academy—the supportive staff, collaborative community, and the incredible students she has the privilege of working with. She values being part of a team that truly cares about one another and works together to help every student succeed.

One of the most rewarding parts of her work is watching students who have struggled make meaningful progress and experience those breakthrough moments. Seeing a student who once struggled to recognize letters grow into a confident reader who can read CCVC, CCVCC, and CVCC words is the kind of growth that reminds her why she teaches. Watching students gain confidence and believe in themselves makes every challenge worthwhile.

Mackenzie appreciates the strong culture of support and collaboration at Colearn Academy. She loves knowing that she can reach out to colleagues with questions and receive authentic, encouraging support from a team that is always willing to help.

A fun fact about Mackenzie is that she has visited The Shire!
