As a High School English Teacher, Joel Picher creates an engaging and supportive learning environment where students are encouraged to grow as readers, writers, and critical thinkers. He partners closely with students and families to strengthen communication skills, build confidence, and support academic success in literature and writing.

His responsibilities include planning and delivering standards-based English instruction, guiding students through reading comprehension and writing development, fostering meaningful discussion and analysis, and building strong relationships with students and families. Joel is passionate about helping students experience growth and self-realization through the power of language and expression.

Joel Picher values the opportunity to help students develop both academically and personally, finding meaning in those moments when students grow in confidence and begin to see their own progress. He believes that strong relationships and thoughtful instruction play a key role in helping students reach their potential.

As he joins Colearn Academy, Joel is excited about the collaborative educational model and the opportunity to work as part of a team focused on student success. Joel was inspired to become a teacher by two influential educators he had during his own high school years—a history teacher and an English teacher who left a lasting impact on him and shaped his desire to pursue education as a career.

A fun fact about Joel is that he has been hit by a car twice.
